DeadSCSI 2 continues the legacy of DeadSCSI and remains a noise collaboration project centered around a single sound file; the sound of a ultra-wide SCSI 3 hard drive after it has given its all in the name of data.
This project has been designed for a specific type of collaboration - conceptual process that we think could create a "cubist piece of music" based on a single sound source. This borrows from traditional cubist concepts (painters like George Bracques and Pablo Picasso) that attempeted to portray a single focus in multiple perspectives, simultaneously. In audio space, we hope to take a single sound source, rework it several ways, and use the individual results in combination.
[The Phonography Archive] field recording repository is an extension of the eGroup disscussion list Phonography. Although this is primarily for the Phonography readers, others are welcome and encouraged to upload their recordings.
