As a child I flipped.
I flicked.
I spun.
Children often flip
their copper dreams
into plaster wells
in the hopes of sprouting wishes.
thop...
as my thumb flicks it skyward
whir...
faintly as it spins
tink... tink.. tink.
bouncing off the sides
till the final PLOP into the water.
Parents muddled
over my assertion,
their child's wish...
only zinc.
