A couple of things that I wish the American population would realize:
1. It is Bush's best interest to start a war, thus sealing the deal on his re-election.
2. A war on terror is by definition unable to be won. An end to terror cannot be achieved through aggression or conflict, as conflict merely serves to precipitate terror.
3. Bush has thus far only acted in his own personal best interest and will likely continue to do so.
Also, doesn't the way that people talk about Bush as if he is a child that can afford to learn by making mistakes disturb anyone else. As an example:
"As he departs, however, his senior aides describe a very different man, who has learned important lessons about diplomacy in 16 months and whose early missteps, they say, provided the lessons that made possible the arms agreement with Russia that will be the centerpiece of his trip."
*George Savile, Marquess of Halifax [1633-1695]
