The Virtual Bar

Thanks to the virtual bar and a coffee table book of a hundred classic cocktails, I have assembled a short list of drinks that I have not had recently, often, or at all and that I would like to try. In no particular order, the list so far is as follows:

  • Black Russian: Kahlua, Vodka

  • Bronx: Gin, Orange Juice, Vermouth, Vermouth

  • Gimlet (Correct): Gin, Rose's Lime Juice

  • Daiquiri: Rum, Lime Juice, Sugar

  • Gin Fizz: Gin, Lemon Juice, Sugar, Carbonated Water

  • Hurricane: Rum, Rum, Passion Fruit Syrup, Lime Juice

  • Long Beach Ice Tea: Vodka, Rum, Triple Sec, Gin, Melon Liqueur, Cranberry Juice

  • Long Island Iced Tea: Tequila, Vodka, Gin, Cola, Lemon, Rum

  • Moscow Mule: Vodka, Lime Juice, Ginger Beer

  • Vodka Stinger: Creme de Menthe, Vodka

  • Manhattan: Whiskey, Vermouth, Cherry

  • Mint Julep #1: Mint, Bourbon, Powdered sugar, Water

  • Sazerac: Sugar Syrup, Bitters, Bitters, Whiskey, Absinthe, Lemon

  • Sazerac #2: Bourbon, Pernod, Angostura Bitters, Peychaud bitters, Lemon peel, Sugar Syrup

P.S. - The Virtual Bar also has a cool feature where you can tell the site what you have stocked in your bar and the site will return a list of recipes for drinks that you can make with those ingredients. Cool, huh. I know I'll use it at my next cocktail party.

P.P.S. - The Webtender is a similar site that I haven't yet investigates too throughly, but seems to have lots of info as well.
